'A Home for All Seasons'
Saturday 4th June
St Mary's Church
A Home for All Seasons tells the story of Stepps House on the Market Square in Pembridge. Written by resident author Gavin Plumley and published by Atlantic Books, the book is a lyrical celebration of the village and the surrounding landscape, charting the course of an agricultural year, as well as centuries of local customs and characters. As one harvest follows another, A Home for All Seasons reveals an eerily familiar tale of a changing climate, a nation breaking away from its neighbours and the unavoidability of illness and worse. Yet for all its sweep, this is an intimate account of making a home and feeling at one with history.
Gavin Plumley will be in conversation with James Duffield.
Signed copies of the book will be available to purchase at a special price of £15 (cash or card) at the end of the event.
